The Conservation Education Centre (CEC) of the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) was established in 1997, it is situated in a forested area close to Sanjay Gandhi National Park at Goregaon. This is the first Centre to promote conservation education in Mumbai, and is a treasure trove of knowledge. An oasis of serenity, the Centre has attracted nature lovers from the city.  The Centre is divided into an auditorium, discovery (activity) room, display room, open classroom, butterfly garden and wildlife watching hide. People from all walks of life visit the Centre throughout the year, and more than 16,000 student visit the centre annually.

As part of the maintenance, the Centre has now undergone massive external repairs to arrest the wear and tear of the building. The total repair cost is close to Rs. 20 lacs of which Rs. 10 lacs has been provided by The Union Bank of India. With help of the generous grant of Rs.10 lacs, the Centre has been treated for water leakages and external repairs. We had put up an appeal for donations for internal CEC repairs and we got following generous donors who helped us in this critical situation raising an amount of Rs.6,86,500/-. We would like to thank all of them.
