BNHS AWARDS TO ARMED FORCES, CONSERVATIONISTS & CORPORATES FOR NATURE CONSERVATION
BNHS Green Governance Programme was initiated on the principle that business cannot afford to overlook ecological parameters. The aim was to integrate ecological findings with project designs to avoid economic losses, environmental degradation and conflicts with communities. BNHS believes that good environmental governance makes good business sense. BNHS has found a perfect partner in ICICI Bank which supports this entire programme.
In order to provide impetus to sustainable development and to encourage the environmental protection initiatives among the corporate as well as government sector including the armed forces, the BNHS instituted the Green Governance Awards. The purpose of this award is to recognize and appreciate the participant organisation's efforts beyond meeting the statutory compliance for protection and conservation of the environment. The first BNHS Green Governance Awards were given in 2005 at the hands of the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
