The CEC team includes 18 members (4 Education, 14 Administration). The support staff includes; 6 security guards, 1 Office attendant, 2 driver and two sweepers.The details of executive staff are given below:
Dr. V.Shubhalaxmi, Center Manager
Ph.D in Zoology with specialization in Entomology from BNHS. Recently got certificate from Boston University in Environmental Conservation Education. An environmental educator and entomologist working with BNHS for past 18 years. She heads the Conservation Education Center (CEC) and strives for its financial sustainability. She has15 years experience in designing and implementing of environmental conservation education modules for formal and non-formal target audiences. Also 18 years experience in entomological researches with specialization in Moths. She has been content developer and training module specialist for environmental conservation education. She exhibits excellent leadership, communication and administrative skills. She has been Fulbright Fellow twice (Hubert H. Humphrey Programme (2009-2010), Indo-American Environmental Leadership Programme (2003)).She is now specializing in Nonprofit Management in India.
Ms. Deepa Fernandes, Administrative Officer
S.Y. B.Com from Chetana Hazarimal College, Mumbai, Currently pursuing NGO Management course by Indira Gandhi National Open University. She is Administration in charge of Conservation Education Centre (CEC). She manages 10 support staff and to handles office administration. She looks after maintenance of CEC building, equipment and vehicles. She manages CEC accounts including project accounts. She assists the Center Manager. Working at CEC for past two years. Previous she worked as Typist *** Accounts Assistant.
Ms. Priti Choghale, Senior Education Officer
M.Sc. Zoology (Specialization in Oceanography / Fishery) K. J. Somaiya College, Mumbai. She manages Corporate and Family events at CEC and outreach. She has runs the two online courses Leadership Course in Biodiversity Conservation (LCBC 100) and Basic Course in Entomology (BCE 100) run by CEC. She arranges family camps at CEC. She has been developing educational material for projects and programmes. She is also responsible for maintaining photo inventory and visitor database. She manages e-groups and social media portals,prepares press releases. She also writes and manages grants.
Mr. Sachin Chorge, Senior Education Officer
M.Sc in Zoology with specialization in Entomology from R.K. Talreja College, Ulhasnagar. He is currently pursuing his M.Phil. in environmental science. He manages school visits and events. With a good experience in teaching he conducts slide shows in an interactive way and also contributed in LCBC 100 course chapter reforming. Also designed new programme brochure for CEC. Project proposal writing and implementation add to different learning opportunities in his work at CEC. He has 2 yrs of teaching experience. He is computer savvy with good technical knowledge.
Mr. Kaustubh Bhagat, Education Officer
M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Pune. He had been working for WWF India. He has four years experience in both research and education. He manages College visits and events. He also coordinates the activities of Thane Chapter of CEC. He is currently looking into the biodiversity study of BNHS Reserve. He enjoys studying the interdependence and adaptations among organisms. He also likes to understand the relationship of biodiversity and humans from historic and cultural perspective. His easy going and animated style helps him strike a chord with audiences from all age groups.
