DAY FIELD TRIPS

Module 1: WALK IN WOODS

Make your students tread the wild paths of BNR to study forest ecosystems. The programme includes customized indoor and outdoor activities. These activities develop the student’s understanding about nature.

Time: 8:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m./ 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Programme fee per student: Rs. 75/- (on weekdays), Rs.100/- (on holidays)

Module 2: BE A SCIENTIST FOR A DAY

Allow your students to wear the hat of a scientist for day and enjoy the sweat and thrills of a scientist. Students will participate in the on-going biodiversity surveys at BNR. They will field methods for scientific investigations, usage of GPS, identification of flora and fauna, data recording and basic data analysis.

Time: 8:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m./ 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Age Group: 9 to 14yrs

Minimum Group Size: 25

Programme fee per student: Rs. 250/-

Module 3: GREEN ZONES OF MUMBAI

Explore the different ecosystems in and around Mumbai. Whether it is a woodland, grassland, wetland or a mar ine shore , Mumbai’s surroundings are bestowed with each of these habitats. We can help you to explore these green zones with your students on study tours. Make your choices; Flamingo watch at Sewri, Mangrove watch at Vikroli, Marine watch at Nariman Point, Birdwatching at Karnala Wildlife Sanctuary…and more.

Duration: Half Day/Full Da y

Programme fee per trip: Rs. 1500/- per hour for half day/Rs.5000/- for full day.

 

 

Module 4:  NATURE CAMPS

Give your students a complete package of environmental studies with a dash of wildlife wonders. A residential camp aimed at providing hands on training on environmental and wildlife aspects with field trips, projects to work on, team-building games and more.

Venue: CEC, Goregaon  Age Group: 9 to 14yrs  Duration: 2 days and 1 night

Minimum Group Size: 25  Camp Fees: Rs. 1500/- per student (inclusive of lodging, boarding and study material)


ACTIVITIES AT SCHOOL

Module1: AUDIO VISUAL SHOWS

Invite us to conduct interactive lectures on environment and wildlife for different age groups. The lectures are customized as per the class syllabus.

Duration: 1:30 hr. Programme Fees: Rs. 2500/- (For Mumbai), Rs. 3000/-  (For Thane and Navi Mumbai).

Module 2: CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES

We offer our services in conducting environmental educational programmes within your classrooms. We conduct range of activities starting from small projects such as study water wastage in the school to hands on activities such as paper making.

Duration of each activity: 1 hr.   Minimum Group Size: 25 students

Per Activity Fee: Rs.2500/- (Contact us for list of activities and group discounts)

Module 3: STUDENT PROJECT WORK

Understanding the need of mentoring required for project work, we have developed numerous short term as well as long term student projects in the field of wildlife and environment. We offer periodic mentoring to the students and teach then scientific inquiry method where they learn to develop hypothesis and methodology, collect and collate data and finally present or publish the data. Call us for such mentoring sessions.

HORNBILL NATURE CLUB

BNHS has been actively establishing nature clubs for past 10 years under the banner of “Hornbill Nature Club”, aptly named after our mascot. The nature club activities include syllabus based programmes that are conducted throughout the academic year. We conduct range of indoor and outdoor activities with students and teachers. The activities include; field trips, camps, hands on experience activities, projects, competitions, community services and many more.
