AWC Bird Walk – Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal
As part of the Asian Waterbird Census (AWC) 2026, the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) is organising a bird walk at Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal. We invite BNHS members and bird enthusiasts to participate in this important citizen science initiative and contribute to the monitoring of waterbirds and wetland habitats. The walk will cover grasslands and wooded areas within the park, then the AWC will be conducted at the wetland area. This offers opportunities to observe and record resident and migratory waterbirds in an urban natural setting and be a part of the AWC. The event will also highlight the ecological significance of Van Vihar as a vital refuge for urban biodiversity and the importance of the AWC, making participants aware of this internal event.
