Malabar Hill Tree Walk
14th December, Sunday
The historic seven islands of Bombay once had 22 hills, with Malabar Hill being the highest point in the city. Once a dense forest, it remained largely untouched except for a few government residences. Despite rapid urbanization, Malabar Hill has retained much of its lush greenery, serving as an ecological oasis in the heart of Mumbai. Even today, its long stretch is home to a diverse range of common and rare plant species, providing a refuge for biodiversity. The area’s ancient trees, flowering plants, and native vegetation continue to thrive, offering a glimpse into the city’s natural heritage. A walk through Malabar Hill is a journey through time, where nature and history coexist in harmony.
